AES Colombia
AES Colombia began operations in the country in 2001. The company was centered around the Chivor hydropower plant, the first great energy engineering project in the country dating back to 1970. Today, AES Colombia is the fourth largest power generator in Colombia.
AES Colombia is a subsidiary of AES Andes and is committed to improving lives for Colombians. We are the only company that offers 100% sustainable energy solutions in Colombia through a portfolio of generation technologies. AES Colombia owns the largest wind project, the largest solar self-generation projects and one of the most advanced energy platforms in the country, responsible for 6% of Colombia’s total power generation.
